The recently unveiled Range Rover Velar will come to India much earlier than previously confirmed.
While bookings have already begun, the price for the Range Rover Velar SUV will be announced on September 21, 2017, as per CarandBike. The official launch of the Range Rover Velar will follow soon after the price reveal.
Jaguar Land Rover will launch the Range Rover Velar in both petrol and diesel models. The diesel model will be offered with two different specifications. The powerful model will be powered by a 3-litre V6 unit that produces 296bhp and a massive 700Nm of torque.
The other diesel engine is a 2-litre four-cylinder Ingenium unit that develops 177bhp and 430Nm of torque. Both the engines will be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and power will be sent to all four wheels.
As for the petrol powertrain, the Velar petrol model will be powered by a 2-litre engine from the Ingenium family which churns out 246bhp and 265Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with all-wheel drive drivetrain.
Among the Range Rover lineup, the Velar is slotted between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 1 crore.
The Velar undoubtedly carries the Range Rover DNA with its wide and sporty look. The Velar features LED headlamps, 20-inch alloy wheels, and the dual-tone exterior is expected to be offered in India.
The Range Rover Velar in India will rival the likes of Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and the Volvo XC90.
The clean and straight line design of the Range Rover Velar looks modern and sophisticated and shouts luxury and premium feel. The Velar is a head turner indeed.
