Porsche 718 Cayman GTS & 718 Boxster GTS Revealed
Porsche 718 Cayman GTS & 718 Boxster GTS revealed. The GTS variants of the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster are the most powerful versions of the new-gen sports cars from Porsche.
Porsche has revealed the range-topping GTS versions of the 718 Cayman & Boxster sports cars. The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS & 718 Boxster GTS will make their global debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November with deliveries starting in December.
Both the GTS versions of the 718 Cayman & 718 Boxster get an upgrade in power compared to the last-generation of GTS models (25bhp for the Cayman and 35bhp for the Boxster) and use upgraded versions of the 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four engine powering the Cayman S and Boxster S.
The mid-mounted turbo 2.5-litre flat-four engine now cranks out 361bhp and 470Nm of torque which is available between 1,900 and 5,000rpm. The engine on the 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS models are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 7-speed automatic available as an option, both of which send power to the rear wheels.
Porsche claims that both the 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS can sprint from 0-100kph in just 4.1 seconds and will continue to accelerate until they top out at 290kph, which is 0.2 seconds and 6.5 kilometres more than the models they replace.

The new 718 Boxster GTS and 718 Cayman GTS both feature a host of design tweaks to help them stand out from the regular variants. These changes include a tweaked front bumper, smoky black headlights and tail lamps.
Other exterior changes include black GTS badges on the doors, 20-inch alloy wheels painted in a black satin finish, centrally mounted tailpipes and a more pronounced diffuser element.
Inside, both cars get Alcantara seats, steering wheel, centre console and armrests. The cars also get more kit as standard including the Sport Chrono package, Porsche Torque Vectoring with rear limited slip differential and Porsche Active Suspension Management, which lowers the ride height by 10mm.
