French automaker Peugeot has unveiled the world's smallest car dealership in a classic British phone box in London.
The dealership will be open for business from September 12, 2017, and it is named as Peugeot Russell Square. The world's smallest dealership measures just 0.8 metres.
Inside the phone box, there are no salespeople. Instead, there is a tablet connected to Peugeot's e-commerce portal. Customers can browse the products, configure the car, finalise the deal and place an order for a new car within the phone box.
As the phone box has no sales person, it is kept under lock. Customers interested in using the dealership should get a special code from Peugeot's website to access the phone box. With no staff present, the dealership will be open from 7 am to midnight.
The new dealership is setup to highlight Peugeot's online e-commerce ordering system. The automaker states that more and more customers are willing to buy a car online rather than visiting a dealership.
Peugeot UK MD, David Peel said, "Now, despite a car being the second-largest purchase most people make in a lifetime, it can be done from anywhere - even from inside a phone box."
Peugeot has launched a unique dealership to highlight the company's online ordering system. It is also claimed as the world's smallest dealership in the world. The phone box dealership will be open until the end of September 2017.
