Nissan X-Trail Updated Globally
Nissan has updated the current-generation X-Trail with new features and exterior styling changes.
Nissan has updated the X-Trail SUV globally. The Japanese carmaker announced the upgrade on the occasion of the UEFA Champions League Final Match between Real Madrid and Juventus.
The X-Trail SUV is the largest selling crossover in Nissan's portfolio and is also the highest selling SUV in the world for the financial year 2016. The company sold over 766,000 units in the said fiscal year.

As for the updates, the Nissan X-Trail receives the new 'V-Motion' front grille which is slightly wider which is finished in new glossy black. The headlamp cluster arrangement is new which is the redesigned version of the company's signature boomerang-shaped LED DRLs.

Additionally, the bulbs in the headlights new come with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) for the very first time. The fog lamps have been redesigned and are now rectangular compared to circular design.

The side profile has received few changes as well with a chrome side moulding along with the new 17-inch and 18-inch wheels available in different variants.

As for the rear profile, Nissan has updated with a new LED taillamps and chrome strip above the license plate housing.Among the features, the Nissan X-Trail has been updated with an electric tailgate with the motion sensor that just requires foot movement under the bumper to open and close.

Inside the cabin, the X-Trail SUV receives new features such as a flat-bottomed steering wheel, Bose audio system on the top trim, ventilated seats for front and rear passengers, DAB digital radio among others.

You can also opt for two-tone tan and black leather upholstery along with new gloss black finish on the dashboard and air vents.

The significant upgrade to the Nissan X-Trail SUV is the ProPILOT autonomous drive technology. The technology can control the steering, brakes and throttle inputs on highways during traffic congestion as well as during high-speed cruising.
The SUV also receives Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Mechanically, the Nissan X-Trail remains the same and can be specified either with the 6-speed manual or a CVT X-Tronic gearbox. The Nissan X-Trail is offered either as a 2WD format or a 4WD format. Deliveries of the updated Nissan X-Trail is expected to commence from August 2017.
