Nissan Motor India Domestic Sales Up 21% In December
Back in October 2016, Nissan Motor India group has announced that the company’s next plan is to introduce up to eight new cars under Datsun and Nissan brands in India by 2021.
Nissan Motor India has registered 21 percent growth in domestic sales for the month of December 2016 and stood at 3,711 units as against 3,065 units during December 2015.

For the first three-quarters of the current fiscal, both Nissan and Datsun witnessed a growth of 50 percent, the company said in a statement.

Combined, their sales was the second-fastest among the Indian car brands for April-December 2016 against the same period of last year, it added.

Arun Malhotra, Nissan Motor India MD commented about the sales results, "Nissan India achieved healthy sales in December by posting 21 per cent year-on-year growth despite the challenges of the demonetisation issue.

"This strong performance came on the back of continued success of Datsun redi-GO and the great customer response to the redi-GO SPORT."

"We have achieved consistently strong sales in the first three quarters of this fiscal year. The growth we have achieved from April through December positions us as the second-fastest growing company in the passenger vehicle segment in India, a significant feat for a comparatively young company."

Back in October 2016, Nissan Motor India group has announced that the company's next plan is to introduce up to eight new cars under Datsun and Nissan brands in India by 2021.

Recently, Nissan launched the GT-R and is ready to unveil the X-Trail Hybrid soon, falls under the eight new products plan. The company is aiming to become a major force in India with a 5 percent market share by 2020.
