Nissan GT-R Salutes India On Republic Day With A New World Record
The Nissan GT-R has saluted India as it celebrates Republic Day by creating a new world record using the country's map
Nissan has saluted India this Republic Day by creating a new World Record with the most insane car in its lineup, Godzilla or as its better know the GT-R.
The Nissan GT-R carved out the world's largest-ever outline of a country map on the dried out lake bed of the Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan. The GT-R was driven by professional rally driver Rahul Kanthraj as it attempted the record feat.
Once certified, this unique record will be included in the 2018 edition of the Limca Book of World Records which expected to be published in June 2018.
The outline of the map carved out by the GT-R on the lake is about 3km in length and 2.8km in width with a total outline periphery of 14.7km. Nissan used GPS to plot out the map and multiple laps were done to approximate the actual map. The results were captured by drones and video cameras and can be seen in the video below.
Powering Godzilla is a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine that cranks out 562bhp and 637Nm of torque, which is sent to all four wheels by a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox.
