Consumer Forum Fines Dishonest Dealer For Cheating An Old Lady
Nissan dealer found guilty by the Consumer Forum — ends up paying the customer.
Nissan dealer was asked to deliver the car of the desired model to a buyer. Now, this buyer is a 75-year old lady. Further, she filed a complaint against the dealer after receiving the car.

What was the complainant? Well, the old lady had booked a Nissan Evalia XV top-end version from Dhanalakshmi Automotives India Private Limited in Nov 2013. She already made the entire payment for the vehicle.

Moreover, she was delivered a Nissan Evalia XV base variant instead of the top-end one. The car cost over a lakh and a half less than what she had made the paid for. This was the reason for the complaint.

So, after three years of filing the case with Hyderabad District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-III against the Nissan dealer, the old woman has been awarded Rs 3,05,000. This money is like a compensation in addition to delivery of the said car in a roadworthy condition.

The old lady also stated that the dealer acted in a very dishonest manner while delivering the car which was of the lesser value. This deal caused the lady a huge monetary loss on the car.

When Consumer Forum called to enquire about the case, the dealer denied the claims considering it as a silly complaint. In doing this the dealer caused more trouble for himself and ended paying Rs 10,000 for making a frivolous complaint.

After investigating further into the case, the Consumer Forum found the dealer guilty and made him pay for the dishonest deeds done towards the old lady.
