Spy Pics: Next-Generation Maruti Swift Hybrid Spotted In India For The First Time
The new Maruti Swift has been spotted in India for the very first time.
The new-gen Maruti Swift is a highly anticipated car in the Indian market. The third-generation of the hatchback made its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and has also been introduced in several foreign markets.
Now, CarToq has spotted the new Maruti Swift Hybrid in India for the very first time. The Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the country, and it is all set to receive a deserved makeover.
The new Maruti Swift is underpinned by the same platform of the Baleno. The new platform will make the new Swift lighter than the outgoing model which will improve the handling of the hatchback.
The new Swift features redesigned front fascia with sweptback headlamps, hexagonal grille, and revamped bumper. The side profile is a typical Swift design with blacked out A and B-pillars and floating roof design.
The rear of the new Swift has been tweaked. The tail lamp cluster, bumper, and tailgate have been redesigned to give it a modern look. Overall, the rear is more compact compared to the current model.

The third-gen hatchback is likely to draw power from the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine. But the new Swift is expected to be faster due to its reduced weight. The new Swift is likely to be offered with AMT gearbox on both the petrol and diesel variants.
The interior of the new Swift features new flat-bottom steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and engine start/stop button. The new hatchback also gets projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to debut the new Swift at the 2018 Auto Expo. But now, with the car landing in India, it might be introduced sooner than expected. The new Swift will be branded as a sporty offering and will be sold through regular dealerships due to its widespread network.
