Next-Gen Mini Countryman India Launch Details Revealed
Mini is all set to launch the second-gen Countryman hatchback in the Indian market.
BMW-owned British car manufacturer Mini is all set to introduce the next-generation Countryman in the Indian market.
GaadiWaadi reports that the next-gen Mini Countryman will be launched in the country in early 2018 and it is likely to be showcased at the Auto Expo in February next year.

The new Mini Countryman was first revealed at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and has been on sale in the European markets from early-2017. The Countryman in its second-gen avatar comes with cosmetic and mechanical updates as compared to the currently sold model.

The overall design of the new Countryman remains identical to the previous model. The front fascia of the hot hatch features the classic Mini grille with chrome trim, led headlamps, LED daytime running lights, fog lamps and skid plate.

The side profile of the new Countryman sports body cladding which renders the hatchback a butch look. The rear of the car features a roof spoiler, LED tail lamp cluster, twin chrome-tipped exhaust pipes, muscular bumper and skid plate. The hatchback also gets roof rails.

The interior of the next-gen Mini Countryman comes with a host of updates and features a new 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Touch Controller on the centre console, Harman Kardon sound system, heads-up display, LED interior and ambient lighting.

The global-spec Mini Countryman comes with two engine options, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and 2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Both the engines are offered in different power outputs. Mini also retails a hybrid variant of the hatchback. The India-spec model is likely to get 2-litre petrol and diesel engines.

The new Mini Countryman comes with a host of updates to the exterior and interior design and also gets mechanical updates as well. We expect Mini to showcase the second-gen Countryman at the 2018 Auto Expo. When launched in India the new Countryman is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 40 lakh ex-showroom.
