Swedish car maker Volvo is all set to introduce the new XC60 SUV in the Indian market. The new model is likely to go on sale in its top-of-the-range trim only.
Now, Autocar India reports that the new Volvo XC60 will be launched in India by late-2017. The new model will be loaded with a host of new tech and safety features.

Volvo will offer the new XC60 with the more powerful 2-litre diesel engine producing 235bhp. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with an all-wheel-drive system as standard.

Volvo might also offer the XC60 with a less powerful engine producing 190bhp equipped in the V90 sedan. Apart from that, the petrol variant might also be launched with the 320bhp T6 petrol motor.

The new Volvo XC60 will be equipped with features such as air suspension, Bowers and Wilkins audio system and 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior will feature Nappa leather upholstery and heads-up display.

The prominent highlight of the new XC60 will be the radar-based safety system. It could be the second Volvo in India to get such safety features. The recently launched XC90 Excellence also features the radar-based safety system.

Volvo has stated that it will assemble the new XC60 at its Bangalore facility in India. The new SUV is likely to carry a price tag of around Rs 52 lakh to Rs 55 lakh ex-showroom. The new XC60 will rival the likes of Mercedes GLC, Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
