2017 Volkswagen Polo To Launch In Brazil By Mid-October
The 2017 Volkswagen Polo will hit the Brazilian and European markets by mid-October this year. The new hatchback is based on company's MQB platform.
German automaker Volkswagen is all set to introduce the 2017 Polo. The new hatchback will be showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
Now Auto Esporte reports that the new 2017 Polo will be launched in European and Brazilian markets by mid-October. The report also states that the new-gen Polo will not replace the Gol.
The Gol is based on the current generation Polo hatchback. The 2017 Volkswagen Polo is based on the Volkswagen Group's flexible MQB platform. The 2017 Seat Ibiza also uses the same chassis.
The Brazilian-spec Polo is likely to be powered by a 1-litre TSI Flex engine producing 115bhp and a 1.6-litre MPI engine churning out 120bhp. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
On the design front, the exterior of the new Polo features an evolutionary design with design cues from the Golf hatchback. The overall dimensions of the Polo will be identical with slightly extended wheelbase.
The 2017 Volkswagen Polo will also spawn a sedan variant which will be slotted below the Jetta. A pickup based on the Polo is also considered and might be launched in late-2018.
