2017 Renault Lodgy Facelift Revealed
The facelifted Renault Lodgy comes with revised exteriors and interiors, set to launch later this year in India.
Renault has revealed the facelifted Lodgy ahead of its arrival in the European market by April 2017. The Lodgy facelift will also enter India later this year or early 2018.
The Renault Lodgy facelift is seen with revised exteriors and interiors and comes with the same engine options as the current model. The new Lodgy is based on the new Duster and looks sportier than before.
The Lodgy is facelifted with a new front grille, garnish around the license plate andnew 16-inch alloy wheels. The new Lodgy Stepway variants get Flex Wheel 16-inch Bayadère Dark Metal alloys.
As for the interiors of the facelifted Lodgy, the changes include a new four-spoke steering wheel, revised air vents, new horn pad on the steering wheel, dashboard with new satin-chrome touches. The Stepway variant receives a 3D weave upholstery.
Features such as reverse parking camera, armrest, folding table for rear passengers, one touch window function for the driver, among other remain the same as the current model.
As the powertrain of the new Lodgy remains the same, the specification includes the 1.5-litre K9K diesel unit which powers the Duster. While the 83.83bhp version employs a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 108.5bhp version employs a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Renault Lodgy in India has been facing severe competition not just in the MPV segment, but the trend of SUVs has dented sales of MPVs in the country. The new Lodgy will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and to some extent the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The company feels the Lodgy can perform well with fleet and taxi operators, which has not done well when it was launched among the regular buyers.
