India's leading automaker Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to launch the third generation of the Dzire in the Indian market. Ahead of that the 2017 Swift Dzire has started reaching dealerships.

The 2017 Swift Dzire has been already unveiled, and the launch is set to happen on May 16, 2017. Ahead of that TeamBHP has spotted the new-gen compact sedan at a dealership stockyard. It's the first time that the Dzire is launched before the launch of its hatchback sibling, the Swift.

The 2017 Dzire is based on the HEARTECT platform which also underpins the Baleno and the upcoming Swift. The new-gen compact sedan gets significant changes to the design.

The front fascia of the car features a wider grille with chrome inserts, revamped headlamps with LED projectors and DRLs and redesigned bumper with chrome detailing below foglamp housing.

The side profile of the 2017 Dzire has also been tweaked to give it a premium look. The new Swift Dzire also gets new 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and LED tail lamp cluster.

The interior of the new-gen Dzire retains the dual-tone theme of the previous model, but the layout is entirely changed. The interior features flat-bottom steering wheel, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink and rear AC vents.

The new Dzire will be offered in two engine options - a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, or an AMT transmission offered only on the V-trim and above.

When launched in India, the 2017 Swift Dzire will lock horns with the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Aspire.
