New Maruti Suzuki waiting period extends from 8 to 10 weeks with bookings crossing 40,000 within 13 days of its launch in India.

Much of its overwhelming response is attributed to its contemporary design language, features, updated interiors and its pricing. The waiting period differs based on the variants of the new Dzire.

The third-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire was first unveiled on April 24, 2017, and the compact sedan from India's largest carmaker seems to hold on to its top position in the segment.

The new Maruti Dzire has been re-designed and re-developed and is based on the lightweight Heartect platform. With the new platform, the new Dzire is lighter by 85kg and 105kg in its petrol and diesel models respectively.

With the extended width of 40mm and a 20mm longer wheelbase, the new Maruti Dzire has grown in cabin and boot space (62-litres more boot space).

On the engine specifications, the new Maruti Dzire continues to employ the same engines as the outgoing Dzire. The Petrol Maruti Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre producing 82bhp and 113Nm of torque.

The diesel Maruti Dzire is powered by a 1.3-litre engine developing 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both the powertrains are available either as a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.

The new Maruti Dzire diesel model returns a fuel efficiency of class leading 28.4km/l, while the petrol model offers 22km/l.

With the above figures of performance, the new Maruti Dzire has indeed arrived and will continue to rule the compact sedan segment for a while.
