New 2017 Hyundai Verna Spotted Testing Again — India Launch Date Nearing
The new Hyundai Verna has been spotted testing in India, hinting at the launch date, which could be any time this year.
The Hyundai Verna has always been a strong seller for the South Korean carmaker and has seen a number of iterations in the past. Now, the latest 2017 model has been spotted testing.
The new Hyundai Verna seen testing in the country relates to the car's launch date, which is expected to be anytime this year.
The car spotted was under heavy camouflage and was registered to Tamil Nadu, where Hyundai has its manufacturing facility. The new Verna will receive a major cosmetic upgrade, for 2017.
Hyundai will follow the design language similar to that of the new Elantra, with a hexagonal front grille with revised LED headlight setup. The front and rear bumpers will also be tweaked to give the new Verna a sporty profile.
Power will be drawn from a choice of either a 1.4-litre petrol engine or a 1.6-litre diesel engine, paired to a manual gearbox, with an optional automatic transmission.
The interior will come with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. When launched, the new Verna will compete with the Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
