Hyundai India is all set to launch the all-new Verna in India this August 2017. Ahead of its launch, the details of the new Verna has been leaked.
Team-BHP has revealed how the new Verna will look and has shared details of the new-generation Hyundai Verna.
The India-spec Hyundai Verna will receive chrome surrounds on the front grille, which is quite extensive. There is chrome surround on the fog lamp housing as well. Along with the hexagonal front grille, the sedan will receive projector headlamps and LED DRLs.
At the rear, the new Hyundai Verna sports LED taillights similar to the design of the Elantra and i20.
Inside the new-generation Verna, there is a new dashboard with a new touchscreen infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The other details of the new Verna leaked are the dimensions of the new sedan. The length is 30mm longer; width is wider by 29mm, the height is lower by 6mm, and the wheelbase is longer by 30mm. This indicates that the new Verna will be roomier and spacious.
Also, the specifications of the new Hyundai Verna has been revealed. Hyundai will offer both petrol and diesel engines in 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre units.
The petrol 1.4-litre engine produces 105.5bhp and 135Nm of torque which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.6-litre petrol engine develops 121bhp and 155Nm of torque and comes paired either to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox.
As for the 1.4-litre diesel engine, the unit generates 88.7bhp and 220Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 1.6-litre engine produces 126bhp and 260Nm of torque and is paired either to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Hyundai Verna is well developed to offer roomier cabin; however, we think the 1.4-litre petrol and the diesel model should have been offered with an automatic gearbox. This could have given the new Verna an edge over its immediate rivals such as Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and Maruti Ciaz.
