New-Generation Hyundai Verna To Be Launched Next Month; Bookings Open
Hyundai dealers have confirmed bookings for the new Verna for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The much awaited next-generation Hyundai Verna is expected to be launched in India next month. Unofficial bookings for the New Hyundai Verna are being accepted at dealerships for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Hyundai India is gearing up for the launch of the new Verna and has been teasing the sedan through images and a video. The new-generation Verna will come with projector headlamps and LED DRLs along with chrome accented grille and LED tail lamps similar to it sibling Elantra.
The South Korean carmakers' Verna was one of the first models to gain the Fluidic Sculpture styling. In the past decade, Hyundai first tasted success with the pre-facelifted Verna before models such as Grand i10, Creta and the new i20 became popular in the Indian market.
The teaser images reveal that the new Verna will be a major leap over the current model. Taking inspiration from the Elantra, the new-generation Verna follows Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy.
The sedan has been revealed globally and sports as large single-frame grille up front, sharp looking headlamp cluster with LED DRLs and projector headlamps, while the LED tail lights are similar to that of the i20. The new Verna has grown in dimensions: 15 mm in length and 29 mm in width, while the wheelbase is now longer by 10 mm indicating roomier cabin.
Inside, the facelifted Verna's cabin also takes inspiration from its bigger siblings and will receive a host of new features. The new sedan is expected to receive a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with dual airbags and ABS as standard.
Power to the new Verna is expected to remain same as the previous model with the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. The company is expected to offer the automatic gearbox on both the petrol and diesel models along with the manual gearbox.
The new Hyundai Verna will rival the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento and the Skoda Rapid in the Indian market.

The Hyundai Verna once dominated the executive sedan segment with its stylish design but lost out on features and technology. Now that Hyundai has redesigned the Verna along with new features we expect a robust competition from Verna in the executive sedan segment.
