Next-Gen Hyundai Verna Bags Record Export Order From The Middle East
Hyundai has bagged a record export order for the next-gen Verna from the Middle East.
South Korean automaker Hyundai recently launched the fifth-gen Verna in the Indian market. The updated mid-size sedan features cosmetic changes and the front end of the car is similar to the brand's bigger sedan, the Elantra.
Now, Hyundai India has bagged a record export order of 10,501 units for the next-gen Verna from the Middle East market.

The Hyundai Verna is known as Accent in the Middle East markets. The fifth-gen Verna will be exported to the Middle East from India. This is the largest order received by Hyundai as compared to the previous models of the sedan.

Hyundai had invited 33 distributors from the Middle East which also included Saudi Arabia, Oman and UAE and other Asian countries to its production plant in Chennai. The distributors got to witness the plant and also drove the new Verna.

The fifth-gen Verna will also be exported to South Africa, Gulf and other Asian countries starting from 2018. Hyundai has also received an impressive response in the domestic market and has received more than 18,600 bookings since its launch.

The India-spec Hyundai Verna draws power from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines producing 121bhp and 126bhp respectively. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Hyundai is also expected to introduce a smaller 1.4-litre engine in the future.

MD and CEO of Hyundai India, Y K Koo said, "The Next Gen Verna has received overwhelming response from domestic and export markets. We are very happy and proud to receive such a large single export order within one month of showcasing the product to the distributors from overseas markets."

India has become the global manufacturing hub for several automakers which is a good development. Under the Make In India initiative, Hyundai will manufacture and export the new Verna to the Middle East which will also create additional employment opportunities in the country.
