Ahead of its official debut later this year, photos of the all-new BMW X2 have surfaced on the web. The 2018 BMW X2 is featured with a camouflage wrap.
The official images of the reveal the new X2 prowling in its urban environment though it doesn't reveal the design language with its colourful camouflage cover.
However, it is clear that designers have taken several features from the X2 concept unveiled at the 2016 Paris Auto Show. What is prominent and striking is the front profile, including the rendition of the iconic BMW kidney grille.
Also, the lower part of the two air intakes is designed to be more pronounced compared to the top.
Unlike the X4 and X6, the new BMW X2 is dynamic and sporty yet elegant with the sloping roof line similar to the Range Rover Evoque, which it will compete in the segment.
The new BMW X2 will sit on the same platform as the X1 and the new MINI Countryman. Also, it will share the engines from the X1 in petrol and diesel, with three and four cylinders turbo with power output ranging from 114 and 230bhp. There will also be an M Performance with a maximum power output of 300bhp.
All version of the new-generation BMW X2 will be front-wheel drive; the all-wheel drive xDrive will be optional. Most of the models will be available with an automatic gearbox, while a 6-speed manual gearbox will be available on select models.
BMW will fill the gap in the X1, X3, X4, X5 and the X6 lineup; an X7 is in the pipeline as well. The official images of the BMW X2 show us that the X2 blends well in the urban environment and will take on the likes of the trendy Range Rover Evoque.
