Pet Owners Take Note: Most Pet Restraints Fail Crash Test
Study shows that most pet restraints sold in the market fail crash tests, putting your pet in trouble.
Pet owners love to take their beloved bundle of joy around in cars. When doing so, your pet must be restrained, for your own safety as well as theirs.
Now, a latest crash test conducted by the Centre For Pet Safety has revealed that most restraints sold in the market fail to protect your pets during an accident or a crash. 29 products were tested and 25 of them failed, in one way or another.
Lindsey Wolkom, the CEO of Centre For Pet Safety told Today: "Pet owners should be screaming about this. If you get into an accident and one of these products fails, it puts you, your family members and it puts other drivers on the road at risk."
The CEO said, "Pet products are not defined as consumer products by the Consumer Products Safety Commission, so they bypass any kind of any oversight or regulation."
After the tests were conducted, the Centre found the following products to be the best performers:
- Sleepypod Clickit Utility
- Gunner Kennel G1 Intermediate with Strength Rated Anchor Straps
- Sleepypod Mobile Pet Bed with PPRS Handilock
- PetEgo Jet Set Forma Frame Carrier with ISOFIX-Latch Connection
