Mitsubishi Mulling Over Return Of Lancer Evolution
Japanese automaker Mitsubishi is planning to bring back the iconic Lancer Evolution.
Japanese automaker Mitsubishi is globally known for its legendary Lancer Evolution brand. The Lancer family was a huge success for the company around the world.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution showed its true colours in the world of motorsports by winning multiple titles in different disciplines.
But recently Mitsubishi decommissioned the Lancer Evolution. But now it looks like the Japanese carmaker will bring back the iconic car, but for that, you have to wait for at least six years.
In 2016, Nissan acquired Mitsubishi, and Carlos Ghosn took charge of the company. Ghosn aims to transform Mitsubishi a third major automobile brand. New technology and collaborations are on the cards.
Trevor Mann, Chief Operating Officer, Mitsubishi stated that the company is evaluating a new performance flagship model. And the Lancer Evolution could be the solution. The new futuristic performance sedan might be a new Lancer Evolution.
Mann also stated that the timeline for the new performance sedan is six years. So Mitsubishi might bring back the iconic Lancer Evolution brand by six years from now.
The Lancer had a legacy in the world of motorsport, especially in World Rally Championship. But the manufacturer withdrew from the championship due to the bad financial condition.
