French tyre manufacturer Michelin has inaugurated its new Research and Development laboratory in Manesar, Haryana.
The Michelin R&D laboratory was inaugurated by France's Ambassador to India Alexandre Ziegler. The new centre will contribute to the government's Make In India and Skill India initiatives.
The new R&D centre is spread across 3,800 square metre at Manesar, and it will provide support to the Michelin Technology Centre in Gurgaon. The new laboratory will focus on radial truck and bus tyres.
The centre will also support Michelin's manufacturing plants in Chennai, China and Thailand. The tyre manufacturer has also set up technological centres in Europe, America and Asia.
After inaugurating the R&D centre, Ziegler said, "Our vibrant economic partnership with India is boosted by France's leading companies such as Michelin which actively contribute to "Make in India" and bring research and development technology expertise here."
