Mercedes Teases New Concept Car For The Summer
German luxury carmaker Mercedes has teased a new concept car which is expected to arrive at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Gordon Wagener, the Chief Design Officer of Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the German carmaker is set to reveal a surprising new concept for the summer.
Wagener made the statement in an Instagram post claiming that that new concept is arriving "pretty soon" and that it would be an "icon".

The biggest automotive event in the coming weeks is the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance show in California, and it was at this event that Mercedes unveiled the massive Maybach 6 concept.

In the short Instagram video, Wagener and his team can be seen looking at sketches of the Maybach 6 concept (which is also seen in a smaller model car size in the background) and the IAA concept from the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

With the 'concept car for the summer' and a reveal timeline of 'pretty soon', Merc does seem to be hinting at a drop top concept for Pebble Beach. If they do chop the top off the Maybach 6, it will be another 'large' hint from Mercedes that it is once again looking to challenge Rolls-Royce with its Maybach line of vehicles.
