Mercedes-Benz Plans To Launch Entry-Level AMG Models
German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz plans to launch entry-level AMG models in the A-Class lineup.
German car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz's performance wing AMG, offers sportier and performance oriented vehicles.
The AMG-badged cars are sportier, tuned for performance and better handling dynamics compared to the standard variant cars. And now the company plans to expand the AMG lineup.

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed its plans to launch entry-level AMG models. The cheaper AMG cars will be slotted below the A-Class lineup. Tobias Moers, Mercedes-AMG boss, stated that two new AMG models would be launched in the A-Class lineup.

Currently, the Mercedes-Benz AMG A-Class line-up comprises of the AMG A45, GLA45 and CLA45. The entry-level performance cars will be launched as per the company's two-tier strategy.

At the Nurburgring 24 hour endurance race, Moers said, "Mercedes-AMG will complement our successful 45 models by offering two versions, like we do with our larger cars".

The statement from Moers hints that two performance cars will be available in the C-Class, the C-43 and C-63. The C-43 will draw power from a V8 engine, whereas the C-63 will be equipped with a V6 motor.

Mercedes-Benz is likely to manufacture smaller AMG engines at the Affalterbach production facility. The smaller engines are expected to be the same in-line four pot turbocharged but with enough grunt required for the AMG badge.

The next-gen Mercedes-Benz A-Class will hit the road next year with smaller engine options. The entry-level AMG A-Class models will be cheaper than the A45, GLA45 and CLA45. The affordable AMG models will rival the likes of Volkswagen Golf R, Ford Focus RS, and Renault Megane RS.
