2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 AMG Coupe Launched In India; Priced At Rs 74.80 Lakh
Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLC 43 AMG Coupe in India with a stylishly aggressive look, powerful engine and several sporty features.
Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLC 43 AMG Coupe in India at a price of 74.80 lakh. The GLC 43 AMG Coupe is the latest addition to its expanding AMG lineup in India.
Based on the GLC SUV, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 AMG Coupe is now the top-spec variant of the GLC-Class in India. The GLC 43 AMG Coupe made its debut in september, 2016 at the Paris Motor Show, a few days after its global reveal.
Powering the GLC 43 Coupe is a 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo engine with a maximum power output of 367bhp and a maximum torque output of 520Nm. Mercedes' 4-MATIC all-wheel-drive (AWD) system with a rear biased torque distribution of 31 to 69 percent (front axle to rear axle) drives all four wheels via the 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The GLC 43 AMG Coupe is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds and will go on till its electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
The Coupe also features the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT system which allows the driver to change the car's settings according to his/her preferences through five preset modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual.
The GLC 43 AMG Coupe is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 12 kilometres to the litre, but with such a high power output from a 3.0-litre engine, it is safe to assume that the quoted fuel efficiency figures might be only in the Eco mode.
The crossover Coupe receives a tweaked chassis, AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension system with Air Body Control and adaptive damping on three levels, speed sensitive variable ratio steering system, etc. Hiding the large perforated 360mm discs up front with 4-piston calipers and 320mm discs at the rear with single piston calipers will be the 19-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels or the optional 21-inch alloy wheels.
The GLC 43 AMG Coupe differentiates itself against the standard GLC on the exteriors with the new AMG spec black grille with chrome pins, the larger air intakes on the beefier front bumper and the brushed silver front lip.
The biggest change on the exterior though, is the sloping roofline that curves into the small, sharply raked spoiler on the boot for a sleek, yet aggressive appearance. The rear bumper features quad exhaust outlets, with two appearing at either side.
Inside, the GLC 43 AMG Coupe receives a sporty interior, with the flat-bottomed multifunction sports steering wheel, and sports seats, all clad in black leather upholstery with red stitching. A 7.0-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth and USB connectivity along with a race timer takes care of infotainment.
The new GLC 43 AMG Coupe went on sale in Europe in December, 2016 competed against the BMW X4 and Porsche Macan. Now, after its launch in India, the crossover coupe will compete against the BMW X6 M in the Indian market.

Thinks!
The Mercedes-AMG brand and its cars have always been aggressively stylish, with just a little more power than actually needed. The GLC 43 AMG too follows this typical AMG way, and is brutally stylish.
The GLC has been on sale in the Indian market for a while now, and you can check out the specifications and also compare The GLC 220d and the GLC 300 with the new GLC 43 AMG Coupe. The new GLC done up by AMG is one crossover, which one can take to the poshest places without feeling intimidated but can immediately take it to a dirt road in the countryside, drifting it. Just how many owners of this car would do the latter, is questionable.
