Mercedes-AMG GT R Sets Fastest Production Car Lap Record At Buddh International
Mercedes has just set the fastest production car record at the Buddh International Circuit with the GT R.
The Mercedes-AMG GT R has set the lap record for being the fastest production car around the famed Buddh International Circuit (BIC). The soon-to-be-launched Mercedes flagship managed to lap the circuit in 02:09.853.
The test was conducted by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) and behind the wheel of the GT R was AMG Driver Christian Hohenadel. The GT R managed to break the previous lap record, which was also held by Mercedes, on the SLS AMG (2:14.521).
The Mercedes-AMG GT R is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that develops 570bhp and 700Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The GT R can sprint to 100km/h from a standstill in 3.6 seconds and go on until it reaches a top speed of 316km/h.
