McLaren Unveils Its 2017 F1 Challenger — Will Orange Get The Championship Back?
"It is awesome. It is a special day for all of us, first time in a car launch. I think it is a beautiful piece of art and I cannot wait to see Fernando and Stoffel go around the track.”
McLaren has revealed its 2017 Formula 1 car - the MCL32, as the team ventures a new era this season under new management. The new F1 challenger also has a revised paint scheme.

The McLaren team has undergone managerial changes following the exit of Ros Dennis and the arrival of new executive director for the team, Zak Brown in January. The new MCL32 is also the first McLaren car to not include the ‘MP4' in nomenclature, which is replaced by MCL32.

Over the winter, the team had teased the new car many times which indicated the new livery that would incorporate orange on the MCL32. Today's launch has confirmed that the 2017 McLaren F1 car will run with an orange branding this season.

Brown said, "It is awesome. It is a special day for all of us, first time in a car launch. I think it is a beautiful piece of art and I cannot wait to see Fernando and Stoffel go around the track. It was a collective group - we went through a variety of designs, and ultimately it was in response to the fans, we have had such outreach from fans 'we want to have orange'."

"I am a McLaren fan - we are going to get there. This team is highly frustrated that we are not winning races," he added.

"We have a new package - it takes a bit of time. 2015 was a tough year, 2016 wasn't a great year by McLaren standards, but it is forward progress - and that is what we want to see in 2017 - forward progress."

The Woking-based team finished the 2016 F1 season in sixth in the F1 world constructors' championship after a poor 2015 season. The team is looking forward to gaining momentum with the new regulations. The driver's lineup of McLaren for the 2017 season includes Stoffel Vandoorne and two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso.
