The McLaren Senna (P15) Is Here — The Ultimate Track Weapon?
The 789bhp Ultimate Series McLaren Senna (P15) is the most advanced McLaren ever! Know more about the McLaren Senna here.
McLaren Senna! If you know a thing or two about Formula One or Motorsports in general, you must've heard of the name, Ayrton Senna. He was an absolute racing legend, who won three F1 Championships for McLaren in 1988, 1990 and 1991.
The McLaren Senna (P15) is the spiritual successor to the P1, but much more insane. At just 1198kg and a lot of aero, this car could be that one weapon of mass destruction at the track (It is road-legal too).
Coming to the looks of the car, we can see a blend of the McLaren 720S (P14) with some ‘80s track-pack. One glance at the car, and you can be sure that the car is all about function-over-form. The car has been facing some mixed opinions about the styling since the reveal.
The Ultimate-Series McLaren comes with fins and vents to guide air to and through the right places. At the rear, it has got a huge active wing and a double-diffuser at the bottom.
The interior is rather clean for a track-focused hypercar. There are no control-buttons on the steering either. The Start Button is placed above the driver, and makes things highly dramatic.
The McLaren Senna has a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 giving out 789bhp and 800Nm torque, all to the rear wheels. This, in combination with a 7-speed dual-clutch and the Senna-exclusive Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres, pushes the car like anything (Official figures to be revealed later).
The McLaren P15 is based on McLaren's ‘Monocage III' carbon-fibre tub. And yes, the doors have two (optional) windows above and below the regular window. According to McLaren, the top windows "enhances the sense of space inside the cockpit" while the bottom ones "dramatically reinforces the visual connection between driver and track environment."
The Senna comes with a ‘Race Mode', which lowers the car and stiffens the suspension. The McLaren hypercar also features ‘RaceActive Chassis Control II' and double-wishbone control arms, that helps it to go through corners as if it's on rails.
The McLaren Senna (P15) will be limited to only 500, and each one of them will cost around GBP 750,000 (roughly Rs 6.5 crores).
