Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the updated S-Cross in India on September 28, 2017 and bookings have already commenced across the Nexa showrooms in the country.
The new S-Cross facelift features updated front end with new styling. The front fascia of the crossover sports new imposing grille with vertical slats, redesigned bumper, wider lower grille and slightly tweaked new LED projector headlamps.
The side profile of the new S-Cross is identical to the current-gen model. The crossover is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the 2017 S-Cross features LED tail lamps with cleaner and sharper graphics.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the new S-Cross in four trim levels - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The interior of the updated crossover features satin chrome accent finish, piano black centre console, leather finish arm-rest, soft-touch dashboard and Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The S-Cross facelift will draw power from the existing 1.3-litre diesel engine producing 90bhp and 200Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the 1.6-litre diesel unit. The automaker has also added the mild-hybrid technology to improve mileage.
The S-Cross will be the third model to feature Smart Hybrid technology after the Ciaz and Ertiga. The mild-hybrid technology comes with a host of features such as idle-stop-start, torque assist, brake energy regeneration system and a gearshift indicator.
The new S-Cross features only subtle cosmetic changes compared to the current-gen model. When launched the updated crossover will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport and event the recently launched Tata Nexon. Expect the new S-Cross to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
