Express Drives reports that Maruti Suzuki will launch the updated crossover in India on September 28, 2017. The refreshed model features subtle changes to the exterior design.
The front fascia of the S-Cross facelift features upright profile with drawn-out grille comprising of vertical slats. The bumper has been revamped to give it a muscular look. The new S-Cross will retain the projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights of the current model.
The rear of the new S-Cross sports slightly tweaked tail lamp cluster. Apart from that, the crossover gets roof rails as the current-gen model. Overall, the design is similar to the currently sold model except for the redone front fascia.
The interior of the updated crossover will also feature minor changes with a touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The S-Cross facelift will draw power from the existing 1.3-litre four-cylinder diesel engine churning out 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. The engine will be coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Launched in 2015, the S-Cross was offered with two engine options, a 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine. But due to less demand, the company discontinued the 1.6-litre engine. Now, it looks like the facelifted model will also come with only one diesel unit.
The S-Cross facelift might see a slight bump in the price as compared to the current model. It will also be interesting to see if Maruti Suzuki offers the SHVS mild-hybrid technology. Overall, the updated crossover gets only minor changes similar to the globally sold model.
