Maruti Suzuki's Popular Hatcback Is No More - Not Ritzy Enough?
India's leading car maker, Maruti Suzuki has stopped selling its popular hatchback, the Ritz in India and international markets.
India's largest passenger vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has stopped selling one of its popular hatchbacks Ritz, in both domestic and international markets.

Launched back in 2009, the Ritz was offered in both petrol and diesel variants. Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 4 lakh units of the hatchback which has been a successful model in the company's product portfolio.

Confirming the development, Maruti Suzuki India spokesperson said, "As part of refreshing our product portfolio, we continuously review our portfolio and introduce new models."

The spokesperson further stated that the Ritz played a significant role in strengthening the company's presence among the modern compact cars.

In the compact segment, Maruti Suzuki currently sells the newly launched Ignis, Swift, Celerio, Dzire and Baleno. The company registered a growth of 25.2 percent in the compact segment in January 2017.

Apart from the Ritz, Maruti Suzuki has also discontinued the sales of the low-end model of its premium crossover, the S-Cross due to low demand.
Maruti Suzuki might have pulled the plugs off the Ritz, but do not worry. The company is all set to launch the 2017 Swift in the Indian market by late-2017. Check out the extensive photos of the hot hatch by clicking the gallery below.
