Maruti Suzuki India Discontinues Celerio Diesel, Wagon R, Omni Cargo And Eeco Cargo
Maruti Suzuki India has axed few models and variants form its product portfolio in the Indian market. Prominent models are Celerio diesel, Wagon R, Omni Cargo and Eeco Cargo.
India's leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has discontinued few of its models from its product lineup in the Indian market.
According to a report from GaadiWaadi, Maruti Suzuki has axed some of its existing models and variants. The prominent models among them are, Celerio Diesel, Wagon R, Omni Cargo and Eeco Cargo.
Maruti Suzuki launched the WagonR Stingray in 2013 and will be sold as Wagon R in 2017. The model is an evolved version of the Wagon R with exterior and interior updates to make it look more premium with a slightly higher price tag.
Another significant model being discontinued is the Celerio diesel variant. With the success of the petrol variant, Maruti Suzuki launched the Celerio diesel in 2015. It was the most fuel efficient diesel car at that time.
The utility vehicles Omni Cargo and Eeco Cargo are also being axed from the product portfolio of Maruti Suzuki. Both the models will be replaced by Super Carry LCV sold through the exclusive commercial dealerships.
Apart from discontinuing the above-mentioned products, the Alto K10 AMT and Alto K10 CNG will now be offered in the new optional variants such as AMT(O) and CNG(O).
