Maruti Suzuki Updates SmartPlay Infotainment System; Now Comes With More Features
Maruti Suzuki has updated the SmartPlay infotainment system across the range.
India's leading passenger vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has updated its SmartPlay infotainment system across the range.
All the Maruti cars equipped with SmartPlay infotainment system now comes with Google's Android Auto feature in addition to the already available Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink.
The Android Auto feature enables the user to connect his/her smartphone to the touchscreen infotainment system. Once the phone is paired, applications such as voice recognition, calling, SMS readout, music playback and navigation are displayed on the infotainment system.

Initially, Maruti introduced the touchscreen infotainment system in Ciaz and later it was extended to several models such as S-Cross, Baleno, Ertiga and Vitara Brezza. But the original infotainment system only offered Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink.
In 2017, Maruti Suzuki introduced the Android Auto feature on the Ignis. Before this update, Ignis and the new Dzire were the only models to offer Android Auto. But with this update, all the cars with original infotainment system can be updated with Android Auto.
Maruti Suzuki states that the software update can be done quickly and will be carried out free of cost across all the Maruti service stations till March 31, 2018. The small yet crucial update will be an essential feature for the Maruti customers.
The SmartPlay infotainment system comes as a standard fitment on models like S-Cross (Alpha & Zeta), Ciaz (Alpha), Baleno (Alpha), Ignis (Alpha), Vitara Brezza (Z+), Ertiga (Z+) and Dzire (Z+).
