Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Recalled In India - Is Yours On The List?
Maruti Suzuki has recalled 151 Grand Vitara in India; the affected model was built between June 2008 - May 2013. The recall has been announced to fix a fault in the manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki has announced a recall for the Grand Vitara SUV to fix a flaw in the manual gearbox. The SUV came to India through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route and so was not manufactured in the country.
The company has sold over 151 vehicles which were produced between June 2008 - May 2013 and all the units have been recalled to fix the fault in the manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki has put a notice on its website saying that the dealers will contact the owners of the affected vehicles for inspection and replace the faulty part free of cost.
Owners of the Grand Vitara can also check if their cars have been affected or not by filling their Vehicle Identification Number or Chassis Number on the company's website.
It is still unclear if the recall is part of the global recall but considering the Grand Vitara came to India as CBU, it is most likely that it is a global recall.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is powered by the 2.4-litre VVT four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 163.5bhp and 225Nm of torque. The motor is either mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
