Maruti Suzuki Discontinues Ciaz RS In India
Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the top-of-the-line model Ciaz RS from it sedan lineup in India.
According to some reports that emerged on the internet, Indo-Japanese car maker Maruti Suzuki has weeded out the Ciaz RS variant from its sedan lineup in India. The top variant of the model had some sporty design on the outside as well as on the inside.
Maruti Suzuki has updated the price list of the Ciaz variants and the RS version is not listed. Also, the top variant is not featured in the brochure, which means that the automaker has dropped the RS version from its portfolio.
The Ciaz RS was introduced in the market in 2015 and it was basically a sporty edition of the regular Ciaz. The RS version featured a muscular body kit which included restyled front and rear bumpers.
The RS pack featured a spoiler pack that included a front under spoiler, side under spoiler, trunk-lid spoiler and rear underbody spoiler. Other features on the outside are projector headlamps, black coloured b-pillar, alloy wheels and turn indicators on OVRMs.
The Ciaz RS was powered by the same motor as in the standard Ciaz, a 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 91bhp of power and 130Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor comes coupled with SHVS mild hybrid technology. The diesel engine produces 88.5bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both the powerplants are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Ciaz RS variant was introduced with a price tag of Rs 9.20 lakh for the petrol engine and Rs 10.28 lakh for the diesel variant. The sporty version of Ciaz was offered in seven colours; Pearl Snow White, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Sangria Red, Pearl Midnight Black, Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Glistening Grey and Metallic Clear Beige.
