2017 Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare: Samrat Yadav and S N Nizami Lead After Day 1
The day 1 of the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare powered by Mobil 1 has concluded.
The day 1 of the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare powered by Mobil 1 has concluded. The rallyists covered a distance of 463km from Bangalore and ended the day in Chitradurga.
Samrat Yadav and S N Nizami completed the stage in 2 hours, 45 minutes and 26 seconds and took the rally lead in the Ultimate cars category. Team Maruti Suzuki's Sandeep Sharma and Karan Arya finished second with a stage time of 2 hours, 46 minutes and 35 seconds.
Suresh Rana and Ashwin Naik of Team Maruti Suzuki finished the day 1 in the third position. The route comprised of off-road challenges making the competition exciting.
Rally leader Samarth Yadav said, "We are extremely thrilled to be part of the rally being organised by Maruti Suzuki. Our lead has only motivated and encouraged us to give it our all and we hope to convert this lead into a victory."
In the Ultimate bikes class, Sanjay Kumar leads the rally with a stage time of 1 hour, 50 minutes and 0.8 seconds. R Nataraj crossed the line in second position with a time of 1 hour, 50 minutes and 42 seconds. Abdul Wahid is in the third position.
In the Endurance category, Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta lead the rally after day 1. The day 2 of the rally will be within Chitradurga and the competitors will undergo a tough test on the challenging stages.
