2017 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift Spotted At NEXA Dealership; Launch Imminent
The 2017 Maruti Ciaz is expected to carry some cosmetic changes only, to keep it fresh to take on 2017 Honda City.
India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is geared up for the launch of Ciaz facelift by the first half of this year. The new sedan is expected to be introduced through Maruti's NEXA premium dealerships. However, the automaker hasn't made any official statement yet.
But now, the sedan has been spotted by TeamBHP with Nexa like badging at the rear. The upcoming model is adorning Suzuki logo, SHVS badging and the Ciaz badge on the left. This arrangement of emblems is generally seen on the cars that are sold only through NEXA dealerships.
The 2017 Maruti Ciaz is expected to carry some cosmetic changes only, to keep it fresh to take on 2017 Honda City. We can also expect Ciaz to get a new 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engine along with a 1.4-litre petrol motor.
The 1.6-litre diesel engine will be capable of delivering 120bhp of power and 320Nm of torque, while the 1.4-litre petrol unit produces 92bhp of power and 135Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual and 4-speed AMT gearbox.
We can expect the new Ciaz to hit the showroom floors by April this year. The 2017 model will be a bit pricier than the ongoing model, which is in the price range of Rs 8 lakh - Rs 12 lakh. When it is launched, it will continue to compete against the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid in the mid-sized sedan segment.
