Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift To Be Equipped With New Petrol Engine
According to reports, the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected to get a new petrol engine for the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki is working on a facelifted version of its premium sedan, the Ciaz. The refreshed sedan is expected to hit the Indian market in 2017.
The currently sold Ciaz is being retailed through regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships. But it is expected that the facelifted Ciaz will be the fourth product to be retailed through Nexa premium showroom.
Now according to emerging reports, the new Ciaz will also get an upgraded engine. Although Maruti Suzuki is tight lipped about this, it is rumoured that the new Ciaz will sport Suzuki's M15 1.5-litre petrol engine.
Currently sold Ciaz is powered by 1.3-litre petrol engine which produces 91bhp and 130Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel variant of the car is powered by 1.2-litre engine delivering 89bhp of power and 200Nm of peak torque. The diesel version is also equipped with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle By Suzuki) system for better fuel efficiency.
The new petrol engine is expected to churn out 100bhp and 133Nm of torque. Apart from that the facelifted Ciaz will feature redesigned front and rear bumpers, revamped front grille, new alloy wheels and electric sunroof.
On the interior, the facelifted premium sedan will feature updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. The new Ciaz is expected to carry a premium price tag compared to the currently sold model.
Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ignis in the Indian market, the hatchback is aggressively priced and is targeted towards millenials. Take a detailed look of the hatchback by clicking the photo gallery below.
