Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Baleno RS in the Indian market on March 3, 2017, but ahead of the hot hatch has been spotted undisguised.

Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to launch the sportier iteration of the Baleno, the Baleno RS. Ahead of that the car has been spotted undisguised in India.

The Baleno RS was supposed to be launched in the Indian market by festive season of 2016, but due to production constraints, the launch was postponed and recently it was revealed that the sports hatchback will be launched on March 3, 2017.

Ahead of its launch, GaadiWaadi has spotted the Baleno RS undisguised and these are the clearest shots of the hot hatch.

Coming to the overall design of the Baleno RS, it is identical to its regular sibling. But the car features aggressively designed front bumper, sporty body skirts, chrome garnishing, wider tyres and the RS badge.

The interior of the Baleno RS is expected to feature infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and sporty flat-bottom steering. The overall theme of the interior is expected to be more premium compared to the standard Baleno.

The Baleno RS will be powered by a 998cc three-cylinder, turbocharged, Boosterjet petrol engine churning out 101bhp and 150Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties are expected to be carried by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Apart from that, the Baleno RS will be equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels, which makes it n affordable car in the country to get disc brakes on all four wheels.

The Baleno RS is expected to be launched with a price tag of around Rs 8 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The sportier variant of the Baleno will be pitted against the likes of Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Fiat Punto Abarth in the Indian market.
