Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS India Launch Details Revealed
Maruti Suzuki is geared up for its second launch of 2017. As per the emerging reports, the Baleno RS will be launched in the Indian market in March 2017.
India's leading passenger car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is all geared up for its second launch of 2017. The sportier version of the Baleno hatchback will be soon introduced in the country.
The Baleno RS hatchback is all set to hit the Indian roads. ETAuto reports that according to a close source to the company, the sportier iteration of the Baleno will be launched in India in March 2017.
The Baleno RS was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo alongside the Ignis. Although the car will sport the same exterior design as the standard variant, the front and rear bumper will feature aggressive design.
The Baleno RS will be powered by a 1-litre Boosterjet engine which is expected to deliver a power output of around 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. The transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The 1-litre Boosterjet engine will be the first turbocharged engine from Maruti Suzuki in India. It is expected that the exterior of the Baleno RS will not feature an ‘RS' badging to differentiate the model.
The interior of the Baleno RS is expected to be identical to its standard counterpart. The interior will feature a touchscreen infotainment system, sporty steering wheel and RS badging on the seat covers.
The Baleno RS will be sold through Maruti Suzuki's premium dealership, the Nexa. The RS variant of the Baleno is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 8 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. When launched, the sporty hatchback will rival the likes of Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Fiat Abarth Punto.
Maruti Suzuki will be also launching the third-generation Swift in India. Check out the photos of the 2017 Swift by clicking the gallery below.
