Tata Motors’ Sportscar Designer Is An Automotive Legend
The entire designing of the Tata Tamo Futuro sportscar has been conducted in-house with Marcello Gandini being responsible for its chassis construction.
Tata Motors' new sub-brand, Tamo will launch its first product - the Tamo Futuro in 2018. The car will make its public debut as a near-production concept at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7.

The entire designing of the Tata Tamo Futuro sportscar has been conducted in-house with Marcello Gandini being responsible for its chassis construction. Gandini is a 77-year-old man who is one of the greatest car designers of all time.

When looking at Gandini's career in retrospect, he has one of the most impressive client lists of any car designer in history. The clients include Alfa Romeo, BMW, Bugatti, Ciceta, Citroën, De Tomaso, Ferrari, Fiat, Iso Rivolta, Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati, and Renault.

The Tamo Futuro is the latest car to get Gandini's magical touch. The sportscar is teased to be a 2-seater mid-engined one and is reported to be based on the Tata X1 platform. The Futuro will draw power from a twin-turbocharged 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine.

It is expected that the engine is supposed to produce 180+bhp and the manufacturer is gunning for a kerb weight of under 800kg. The Futuro sportscar will be a limited edition model restricted to just 250 units and might go on sale sometime in the middle of next year.
