Mahindra XUV500 W9 Launched In India At Rs 15.45 Lakh
Mahindra XUV500 W9 launched in India. The W9 variant of the XUV500 brings with it a host of features but remains unchanged mechanically.
Mahindra XUV500 W9 launched in India. The Mahindra XUV500 W9 is priced at Rs Rs 15.45 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
Mechanically, the XUV500 remains unchanged with the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine kicking out 138bhp and 330Nm of torque which is sent to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is also available as an option.
The Mahindra XUV500 comes packed with a host of features including 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, push-button start, passive keyless entry and the carmaker's Eco Sense technology which logs your driving style. The W9 however, misses out on Mahindra's other Connected Apps features.
Other features on the XUV500 include an electric sunroof with anti-pinch, push-button start, passive keyless entry, reversing Camera with Dynamic Assist, and static bending headlamps. Safety features include dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with rollover mitigation and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Speaking at the launch of the new XUV500 W9, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said, "Since its launch in 2011, the XUV500 has been a pioneer in providing innovative hi-tech features that are not available even in vehicles that are almost double its price. We are certain that the introduction of these hi-end features at such a competitive price point will generate a lot of interest amongst prospects who are evaluating SUVs in the price range of 14 lacs to 18 lacs. By introducing these aspirational features at this price, XUV500 has raised the bar once again."
DriveSpark Thinks!
The Mahindra XUV500 W9 packs a host of features found in the higher-spec W10 variant at a much more compelling price as it looks to regain ground lost in the SUV market to the newer Jeep Compass and other rivals like the Tata Hexa and the Hyundai Creta.
