Mahindra to Launch New Flagship Electric SUV In India
Mahindra will launch its new flagship electric SUV, the XUV Aero in India.
We have already reported about Mahindra & Mahindra developing three new electric vehicles. One of them will be the XUV Aero. Now, more details about the SUV has been revealed.
Autocar Professional reports that the XUV Aero electric SUV has been confirmed for production and will be launched in India before 2020.
Mahindra showcased the XUV Aero concept at the 2016 Auto Expo which was a conventional internal combustion vehicle. But now, the automaker is focusing on the EVs and has decided to produce the electric version of the SUV.
The XUV Aero will be Mahindra's flagship electric vehicle, and it will showcase the company's capability in developing high-performance electric vehicles. In other words, the XUV Aero electric will be quick and also have a good driving range.

The electric powertrain of the XUV Aero is likely to produce around 200bhp and 400Nm of torque. The SUV will be capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 8 seconds which is much quicker than the currently sold XUV500. It will be the fastest Mahindra vehicle ever produced.
The XUV Aero electric will have a top speed of 190km/h and will deliver a driving range of around 300km on a single charge. The XUV Aero will feature a coupe-style design and will be offered in a five-seater configuration.
The XUV Aero electric SUV will be equipped with a host of features and luxurious interior to justify its flagship tag. Mahindra is expected to launch the XUV Aero electric in India with a price tag of around Rs 20 lakh, which will make it the most expensive electric vehicle in India.

Mahindra has been a leader in electric vehicle segment in the Indian market. Now, the company is developing three new electric vehicles which also includes the XUV Aero. The SUV in its concept avatar looks stunning, and the same design language could be retained in its production form. We expect Mahindra to showcase the XUV Aero electric SUV at the 2018 Auto Expo in February.
