Jeep Officially Launches 'Made-In-India' Compass In Europe
Jeep has officially launched the Made-in-India Compass in Europe and will be offered in two petrol and two diesel powertrains.
A moment of pride for India, Jeep's made-in-India Compass was officially launched in Europe.
With the launch in Europe, Jeep has revealed more details of the Compass SUV. The Compass will be available in two petrol and two diesel engines with four variants on offer: Sport, Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk.
The 2017 Jeep Compass's design in inspired by Lockheed Martin SR71 Blackbird spy plane. The overall design of Compass looks like a scaled down version of the much larger Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV. Connecting the sleek headlamps, the iconic seven-slot grille of the Jeep Compass brings out the essence of Jeep's branding.
Jeep has powered the Europe-spec Compass SUV with the option of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit includes a 1.4-litre turbocharged mill which develops 138bhp and 230Nm of torque when paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 168bhp and 250Nm of torque connected to 9-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive system.
The diesel model of the Compass comes powered by a 1.6-litre and a 2.0-litre unit. The 1.6-litre engine produces 118bhp and 320Nm of torque when mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 138bhp and 350Nm of torque paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive system.
The Trailhawk version is the top trim receives added features such as increased ride height by 2.5 cms, 17" off road tyres and the ability of 30-degree approach and 24.4-degree break over along with 33.6-degree departure angles compared to other variants.
It also comes with two 4×4 systems - Jeep Active Drive and Jeep Active Drive Low allowing for five varying modes of Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud, plus the Rock mode. Inside the cabin, the Euro-spec Compass Trailhawk version comes with Uconnect infotainment system in a range of displays from 5", 7" or 8.4".
