Lexus Might Bring Its Entry-Level SUV NX To India
The Lexus NX crossover is likely to be locally assembled; will compete with the likes of Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
Lexus is said to be evaluating in bringing its entry-level NX crossover to India.
Lexus offers two versions of the NX crossover: NX and NX300h (hybrid). The facelifted Lexus NX was unveiled at the 2017 Shanghai motor show, and the new NX looks a lot more chiselled compared to the outgoing model.
Apart from the facelift, Lexus has tweaked the chassis and made some changes to its interiors. The new NX also receives revised suspension tuning along with an adaptive variable suspension system obtained from the LC 500 sports coupé.
The Lexus NX crossover for global markets is available as the Lexus NX Turbo with a 235bhp, 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol motor, or as the Lexus NX 300h that churns out 193bhp from the 2.5-litre, petrol hybrid mill similar to that in the ES 300h.
In the international market, the Lexus NX comes with safety features such as forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane-departure alert is now standard on every NX.
The NX crossover boasts a new 10.3-inches infotainment system compared to the 7-inch display seen in the outgoing model.
Just like the ES 300h, the Lexus NX is likely to locally manufactured in India. The crossover will compete with the likes of Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA and will the carmaker's entry-level in the SUV line-up.
