Lexus Launches RX And ES In India — Prices Start At Rs 55.27 Lakh
Lexus has finally entered the Indian market with the launch of its three models. Read to know all the details about the Lexus vehicles in India.
Japanese automaker Toyota's luxury vehicle division Lexus has finally entered the Indian market. The company has launched two SUVs - LX 450d and RX 450h and the ES 300h hybrid sedan.
The Lexus RX 450h is priced at Rs 1.07 crore; the F-Sport variant costs Rs 1.10 crore. The ES 300h hybrid sedan carries a price tag of Rs 55.27 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi). But the company has not revealed the price for the LX 450d.
All the three models will be imported to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The pricing is on the higher side compared to its rivals in the country.
The LX 450d is a rebadged version of the Toyota Land Cruiser using the same basic structure and mechanical parts. But the LX 450d comes with all the luxuries and signature styling cues of Lexus. The SUV is powered by a 4.5-litre diesel engine producing 272bhp.
The ES 300h hybrid sedan is based on the Toyota Camry Hybrid. But the ES 300h gets upmarket interior more equipment with Lexus signature razor blade grille. The sedan draws power from a 2.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor mated to a CVT gearbox.
The final model in the lineup is the RX 450h mid-range SUV. Out of all the three models launched the RX 450h is the best-looking SUV with all the cuts and creases on the body. The SUV is powered by a 3.5-litre naturally V6 engine and electric motor with a combined power output of 308bhp.
With its high pricing, the luxury carmaker Lexus will rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Jaguar and Volvo in the Indian market. The company will try to improve the pricing as the time goes in the Indian market.
