Lexus India Previews Its Product Portfolio In Kochi
Lexus India has showcased its product lineup in a private preview event in Kochi to introduce the brand to its potential customers.
Toyota's luxury vehicle division Lexus is all set to begin its operation in India. Ahead of its official launch, the firm showcased its product lineup in a private preview event in Kochi.
The preview event was held to introduce the Lexus brand to its potential customers. Toyota has already commenced the bookings for the Lexus vehicles in the country.
In the initial phase, Lexus will offer three models in the country, the RX450h, ES 300h and company's flagship LX SUV series. The RC F car was also on display but will not be launched in India.
Toyota will be setting up independent dealerships for Lexus called as Lexus Boutique. The cars will be imported to India as a Completely Built Unit(CBU) and the on-road price will start as high as Rs 85 lakh.
Lexus RX450h is the bestselling product in the company's portfolio. It is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and a hybrid unit. The hybrid powertrain will deliver 308bhp of power. The transmission duties will be carried by e-CVT gearbox.
Lexus LX450d SUV is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser SUV. The vehicle is powered by a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine which produces 269bhp and 650Nm of torque. The LX570 draws power from a 5.7-litre V8 petrol engine delivering 383bhp.
The E300h sedan is based on the Camry and they share most of the mechanical components. The sedan is powered by 2.5-litre petrol engine assisted by an electric motor for better fuel efficiency. The same engine is deployed in India-spec Camry.
