2017 Frankfurt Motor Show: Land Rover Discovery SVX Revealed — SVO’s Latest Off-Roader
Land Rover has revealed its latest SUV from the SVO division, the Discovery SVX, a hand built off-roader.
Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) revealed the Discovery SVX at Frankfurt, a hand-made off-road focused SUV. The Land Rover Discovery SVX is the first of many SVX-badged vehicles to come.
The Land Rover Discovery SVX is expected to go on sale in the international markets next year.
The exterior styling of the SUV includes snorkels, beefier, knobby tyres, roof-mounted LED lights, new front and rear bumpers with skid plates, and circular spotlights.
On the mechanical front, the Land Rover Discovery SVX gets long-travel suspension dampers with all four air suspension that gives the SUV a higher ride height and lightweight aluminium wheels with Goodyear Wrangler tyres.
The SVX carries forward the electronically locking rear differential Hydraulic Active Roll Control system that improves the SUV's body control and articulation. Also, the vehicle comes standard with Terrain Response 2 and All-Terrain Progress Control systems.
Powering the Land Rover Discovery SVX is a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 that makes 525bhp and 564Nm of torque with the help of an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Land Rover, a company that builds SUVs needed a hardcore off-roader based on one of the latest models, and the SVX fills that spot. With more vehicles in the pipeline, the Land Rover SVO division has customers excited already.
