So we thought, to give you guys a quick overview of what to expect from the Lamborghini Urus. Of course, straight up most of us are interested in the power figures. Aren't we?
Lamborghini Urus Engine & Performace Details
Powering this SSUV is a 4-litre, Audi-sourced V8 twin-turbo - making the Urus the first-ever turbocharged Lamborghini.
If you didn't know, all the engines found on Lambos are naturally aspirated. And it is said, the Urus will also get a plug-in hybrid; another first for Lamborghini.
The V8 twin-turbo throws out 650 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque that allows the Urus to reach 0 - 100kph in 3.7 seconds. Good enough for a Super Sports Utility Vehicle? Your thoughts?
Another exciting feature is the world's largest brakes courtesy of 17.3-inch brake rotors. Big enough for the left-foot-braking Lambo owners?
Lamborghini is tight-lipped about the other mechanical bits. But for the sake of discussion, we say, the Urus might be offered with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox - the standard gearbox which powers the Huracán. Regarding drivetrain, an all-wheel-drive setup can make its way to the Urus.
Pricing
For India, Lamborghini will drive in the Urus as a Completely Built Up (CBU) unit; meaning the car is wholly imported to India from Italy. Since it will be a direct import, the prices are expected to start at INR 3.5 crore onward and will compete with the likes of the Maserati Lavente, Range Rover SVAutobiography and the Bentley Bentayga.
Lamborghini expects the Urus to do what the Cayenne does for Porsche. What do you think? Will the Urus double the brand's sales by 2019?
DriveSpark Thinks!
For sure, this is a bold move by Lamborghini, considering its rivals: Ferrari and Aston Martin who is also working on super-sports utility vehicles.
For Lamborghini, the Urus is a volume seller, and the company will be all out aggressive - be it the Urus tackling corners or getting the world to know the first ever Super SUV has arrived!
For now, this is all we have about the Urus. DriveSpark will be tuning in live for the Urus unveil.
