Lamborghini will unveil the Urus SUV on December 4, 2017 in Sant'Agata Italy, and has released a teaser video ahead of the debut. The super sports SUV was first showcased at the Beijing Auto Show in 2012.
Since 2012 there has been a lot of speculations regarding the first SUV from the stable of Lamborghini. The SUV has also been spotted several times revealing the design elements of the vehicle.
The teaser video goes back in time and shows the Miura, the Countach and the original LM002 SUV. The video also reveals the sketch of the SUV. But apart from the reveal date, there is no information about the SUV.
To manufacture the Urus SUV, Lamborghini has set up a separate facility close to its factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese. The company has invested more than 400 million to construct the new manufacturing facility.
The production-spec Lamborghini Urus will be based on Volkswagen Group's MLB platform which also underpins the Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7. The SUV is likely to draw power from a 4-litre turbocharge V8 engine churning out 641bhp.
The super sport SUV will also be equipped with the all-wheel-drive system. Lamborghini is also working on the hybrid variant of the Urus, but it will not make it to production before 2020.
Lamborghini has finally revealed the debut details of the Urus SUV. The Italian automaker also plans to bring the SUV to the Indian market in 2018. The super sport SUV combines the practicality of an SUV and performance of a supercar.
